According to the Arab countries surrounding Israel, ie. Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran, Israel has no right to occupy the West bank, (Judea and Samaria), East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights because these territories were captured in the 1967 Six Day and 1973 Yom Kippur wars. They are supported in their demands to have Israel withdraw and hand these territories back to the Palestinians by the United Nations , the EU , Russia and even the USA, according to the so-called “Two State solution”.
Unilateral DecelerationChief Palestinian Authority negotiator, Saeb Erekat, has now threatened that the PA is ready to request that the United Nations Security Council endorse an independent Palestinian State based on the pre-1967 borders, excluding Israel from the process. They claim Russia and the EU are already on board with their plan. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that a negotiated settlement is the only acceptable path and that any unilateral attempts to form a Palestinian State outside that framework will unravel the existing agreements between the two parties. This will lead to Israel taking some unilateral steps of its own. There can be no doubt that the situation in the Middle East has reached an impasse and that matters may be coming to a head. Any war in the area could unleash missiles from Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and Iran. Reports indicate that missiles from Lebanon (Hizbulah) can now reach Israel's oil refinery and Ammonia plant in Haifa. Direct hits on those facilities alone could cause the death of thousands of people. It is good to remind ourselves that God is in control of Israel's future. No matter what the enemy plans, God is able to turn it around for good. It is a clear call for all God's Israelis to stand in the gap for Israel, the many Messianic believers and the Arab population who God also wants to reach with His message of salvation. Please Pray for the Israeli people and our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Pray for God’s peace and protection over them. Pray that the anxiety over the situation will not affect their inner peace.
